EOC Eye On Citrus Radio: Pre 9-11-2001 Tenth Anniversary Show

(661) 449-9342

The Tenth Anniversary of the most despicable act every perpetrated on a people by elements of its own government in the history of mankind is just around the corner. The evidence is apparent, it’s been shown and revealed over and over, yet the public doesn’t rise to arms in anger, angry at a real foe, a foe that aims to eliminate the freedom of the American people while it robs them blind, of their monies and their young, a foe that has no concern for its’ people nor the sacrifices they have made in the past and continue to do so, to make this Nation FREE.  Yet, so many fail to realize that they have been duped, lied to and misled. Now is the time to shout from shore to shore, from mountaintop to mountaintop, we know the truth, we know the truth, and you will not get away with it! Our Nation will once again rise to rid ourselves of the tyrants that will enslave us through subterfuge, we will rise once again to make this Nation a shining beacon to the world of what true freedom is about, what a Democracy of the people and for the people and by the people really is and that when the people are wronged by its government, the people have every right to throw the government shackles off and march into the light of freedom, untethered and unfettered as a FREE PEOPLE ONCE AGAIN.

Help to overcome

HOMOSASSA — David Gregory knows that life is precarious.
Born with osteogenesis imperfecta, brittle bone disease, he’s had more than 80 broken bones in his 61 years, has spent weeks in traction and has undergone surgeries to have steel rods implanted in his legs.
In 2004, Gregory had heart bypass and aortic valve replacement surgery — serious enough for someone with normal bones, but for him, the risks were multiplied.
But he recovered and returned to work at the county property appraiser’s office in Crystal River 10 weeks later.
“With this disease, it’s bad when you’re young,” Gregory said. “In middle age you get better — your bones harden. Then when you get older, you go downhill again.”
When he was younger, in his 30s, he worked as a garage mechanic. He lifted machinery; he dug ditches. Throughout his adult years he has operated boats at the Marine Science Station, managed a Wilson’s Leather store and worked as a substitute teacher.
He could walk.
“I walked with a limp, but I was normal — in my opinion,” he said.
When he could no longer walk, he began using  a motorized scooter. To get it onto the rack on the back of his car he would prop himself against the car and “drive” the scooter onto the rack using his hands, secure the gate behind it, then slowly make his way into the car.
When he got to work, he would reverse the process and do it again to go home.
He’s never been one to give up.
Five years ago, he got a van, a 1993 Ford E-150, with a lift. Even then it was old, but it lifted his chair, which lifted his spirits.
But now, the van keeps breaking down and the lift broke. A friend loaned him a lift that hooks on the back, which means he has to walk from the back to get into the driver’s seat, and he can’t walk well anymore.
“I call it my ‘McGuyver van,’” Gregory said. “I keep a roll of duct tape, nylon string and a tool kit handy.”
The list of what’s wrong with it is longer than what works.
His friends have opened up an account for him at TD Bank, 1000 S.E. U.S. 19, Crystal River, to help him purchase a wheelchair-accessible van.
He found a van with a lift and a chair included on Craigslist for $3,000, although he said he hasn’t looked at it yet or even knows if it’s still available. The owner lives in Sanford.
“For the past five years I’ve lived on a contingency basis, fixing things as they break,” he said. “Even my chair. I’d think, ‘Which one will go first?’ I was able to get a chair at the Sheriff’s store for $200 the day before my other chair gave out.”
Gregory said he tries to stay hopeful and positive, but is struggling to do so. He’s not one to complain, and said he knows other people have it much worse than he does.
“He tries so hard,” said his supervisor, Sandy Garrison. “He’s always here, he’s a hard worker. He’s a thinker and so intelligent. It’s a shame, though. He just can’t seem to catch a break.”

This is a story predicated upon real life. We, the civilian population

our eyes generally glaze over and we’re ready to move on to the

Here’s a link to a column I wrote for the St. Petersburg Times; please take a minute to read it over, because it’s about an issue that should be important to everyone who believes in the principle of one-person, one-vote.

A so-called election reform bill is rapidly making its way through the Florida Legislature, which right now is in the final week of its annual lawmaking session in Tallahassee. If this bill becomes law, it would:

  • Significantly reduce the number of early-voting days;
  • Make voting harder for people who have recently changed their name or address, like, newlyweds or college students; and,
  • Subject voter-registration drives to stiff legal fines, even for inadvertent mistakes.

This is not a partisan issue, and I’m just one of many people and groups that strongly oppose this measure.
The Orlando Sentinel has said “it amounts to … ripping apart election laws” and “weakening democracy.”
The Tampa Tribune has said “this bill isn’t fooling anybody. It’s not about clean elections.”
Florida Today has called it an “assault on the most cherished of American rights.”
The Palm Beach Post has asked that we stop this “assault on all voters.”
But the state Legislature seems poised to pass it. One thing you could still do is
e-mail Gov. Rick Scott and ask him to veto the bill if it reaches his desk.

As The St. Petersburg Times has said: “Floridians of all political stripes should not stand for it.”

Republican Cuts Devastate interests to THE PEOPLE

Congress needs to hear from all of us right away, because the only chance we have to stop this budget is if Senate Democrats stand united against it. And the first vote could come today.1

Can you call Sen. Nelson and tell him to stand strong against Republicans‘ massive, devastating cuts?

Senator Bill Nelson
Phone: 202-224-5274

Then, please report your call by clicking here:

After you’ve called, please spread the word about this terrible budget. Believe it or not, the list below is just the beginning. For example, the budget would also block the EPA from enforcing the Clean Air Act and cleaning upcoal-fired power plants, and put America’s drinking water and waterways at risk of sewage and urban runoff pollution.2

When people realize how awful these cuts would be for them, their families, and their communities, we win the debate.

1. “Dems seek budget vote game change,” The Hill, March 7, 2011

2. “House Funding Bill Threatens America’s Public Health & Environment,” Environment America, February 15, 2011

It’s time to sound the alarm.

This week, Congress could cut a deal on the budget. And if Republicans get their way, billions will be cut from vital programs that millions of Americans count on—while tax cuts for the richest are protected.

But most people don’t have any idea what’s at stake—and how devastating these cuts would be to their communities—even though the cuts could take effect within weeks. So we’re launching an emergency campaign to spread the word. Republicans want to gut programs with enormous public support, and hope no one notices. So it’s up to all of us to spark a public outcry before it’s too late.

The devastating impact these cuts will have on our country—and on your community—is unprecedented. Check out the list below. If we can get it out to a million people, we can start to sound the alarm and stop the GOP. Click here to post on Facebook and Twitter, or simply forward this email.

Thanks for all you do.

Top 10 Worst Things about the Republicans’ Immoral Budget

The Republican budget would:

1. Destroy 700,000 jobs, according to an independent economic analysis.

2. Zero out federal funding for National Public Radio and public television.

3. Cut $1.3 billion from community health centers—which will deprive more than 3 million low-income people of health care over the next few months.

4. Cut nearly a billion dollars in food and health care assistance to pregnant women, new moms, and children.

5. Kick more than 200,000 children out of pre-school by cutting funds for Head Start.

6. Force states to fire 65,000 teachers and aides, dramatically increasing class sizes, thanks to education cuts.

7. Cut some or all financial aid for 9.4 million low- and middle-income college students.

8. Slash $1.6 billion from the National Institutes of Health, a cut that experts say would “send shockwaves” through cancer research, likely result in cuts to Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s research, and cause job losses.

9. End the only federal family planning program, including cutting all federal funding that goes to Planned Parenthood to support cancer screenings and other women’s health care.

10. Send 10,000 low-income veterans into homelessness by cutting in half the number of veterans who get housing vouchers this year.

We’ve got to get the word out about this awful budget—right away. Please, share this with your friends on Facebook

and Twitter, or by forwarding this email, today.

Let The PATRIOT Act Expire!

BREAKING, February 8th: It’s working! The House vote to extend the PATRIOT Act just failed. But they’re not going to give up — now, more than ever, we need people to keep the pressure on. Sign the petition and tell your friends to sign as well!

UPDATE, February 7th:
The House is trying to ram through a sneaky renewal of the PATRIOT Act this week!  They’re doing it without debate, and without including any meaningful reforms.  Please sign the petition below, and use this page to call your lawmaker to urge him or her to vote no.

ORIGINAL: The PATRIOT Act is set to expire in just FOUR WEEKS, but Congress is trying to rush through a last minute extension!

Since it was passed almost a decade ago, some of the most noxious portions of the PATRIOT Act have burrowed their way deep into our legal system.  A year ago, President Obama signed a bill extending three provisions of the original PATRIOT Act; last week Congressman Mike Rogers (R-Michigan) introduced legislation to extend them again.

Together, these provisions make a mockery of our civil liberties: They let government officials spy on whomever they want, for any reason, without ever letting them know or giving them a chance to challenge the order in court.

Enough is enough: Will you join us in demanding that Congress finally let these provisions expire? Just add your name at right, and we’ll automatically send a message to your senator, representative, and President Obama:

TO MY ELECTED OFFICIALS:  After nearly ten years, it’s time to let the PATRIOT Act expire once and for all.  I urge you to oppose its re-authorization.

Add your name and we’ll deliver your message to Washington.

Here’s a more detailed article from the CATO Institute that explains some of the problems with the PATRIOT Act provisions that are up for extension.  And here’s an overview by the ACLU.

Secretariat the Horse, the Movie

By Dave Gregory

I watched the movie “Secretariat” yesterday and it brought back many memories. My father, Bernard Gregory,  loved the track and he and I both watch that Champion’s career from the beginning. In fact we were in Saratoga and saw Big Red race in one of his first races. My Aunt Helen and Uncle Bill lived in Ballston Spa NY, which was just a few miles away from the historical racetrack, so our visits would often coincide with the racing schedule. I distinctly remember the beauty of that track and going through the tunnel under the stands and out to stand next to the track itself. So we had one of the close up views that you can only appreciate if you’ve ever been to any sporting events and had the opportunity to sit on the sidelines, bench, or dugout, up close to the action, so it was with the racetrack that day. I must admit, being in my twenties, at the time, I don’t believe I really appreciated it then, as I do now. To be witness to history from afar is one thing, to be up close is another, and to have the wisdom to know the difference is the icing on the cake, of course, I am referring to great moments in history, of excelling in any endeavor, being human, or otherwise, of the bright spots and not of man’s dark side. The movie was great and I would highly recommend it to everyone. It is much more than a movie about a beautiful animal achievements, it about the legacy of a father to his daughter, of that daughter carrying on that legacy, which wasn’t just about winning, but about not giving up and giving it your best, whether you win or lose. The DVD release date is Jan. 25, but you can order it now by clicking here!

I understand and now you do, too!

Why do they hate us? Is it really that hard to understand?

I understand, now you do too!

A lot of people ask the question, why do they hate us so? This trailer from a new movie explains it in simple terms, it is a sociologist outlining the thinking that has emerge around the world in their views of the Empire. As with every Empire that has ever existed, conquered people will never be your loyal subjects. The United States Imperialism has taken it into every Nation on earth and the countries that have what it wants are the ones we invade, either clandestinely or by making up false flag operations in order to have an excuse to invade for the bottom line of corporate greed.

JFK: a deathbed confession | Big news Repost from

Truth is stranger than fiction, the best screenwriters that ever lived would never be able to come up withCLICK HERE TO GO TO FACEBOOK DISCUSSION PAGE the truth of John F. Kennedy‘s assassination or that of 911. Did the one give the conspirators the confidence to commit the other? Jesse Ventura’s show Conspiracy Theory on Tru TV digs up the evidence and when you have facts, theories no longer exist, it is evidence that needs to be presented in the judicial system and the appropriate measures taken, although many involved in the JFK assassination have died, the truth needs to be known. The people involved in the one are of the same families that were involved in the other, 911.

The evidence is overwhelming and the only reason that it isn’t bringing indictments are that those involved are at the highest levels of government and the elite have deep pocketbooks and those “after the fact” conspirators need to be prosecuted as accessories after the fact and receive the fullest penalty of the law. Be sure to be on the lookout for our new book and video, JFK to 911, connecting the dots.

In the next episode of the hard-hitting second season ofConspiracy Theory, former Governor Jesse Ventura will take on what he has long regarded as the most significant event of his generation and the 60s era– the assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The program will air this Friday, Nov. 19 at 10 PM EST / 9 PM CST, just days before the 47th anniversary of the iconic president’s death. But TruTV will air more than just memories and heated debate about the grassy knoll. For the first time ever on television, viewers will witness, at last, a confession in one of the most-controversial murders in all of history.

A “major figure” from recent U.S. history admits to involvement in the plot in an audio tape that will blow audiences away. The source names names, and Lee Harvey Oswald isn’t on the list. According to the show’s producers, Ventura’s team has even established new evidence that suggests the individuals allegedly involved in the assassination have powerful ties that even go as high as former President and former CIA director George H. W. Bush. Is this the key at last to why the media has been so reluctant to admit that someone else was shooting at Dealey Plaza on November 22, 1963?

In the course of the episode, Jesse Ventura, a former Navy SEAL and Underwater Demolitions expert, attempts to recreate Oswald’s alleged shooting that day. He tracked down the exact make and model, as well as ammunition stock that the Warren Commission claims Oswald used. But despite the fact that Ventura qualified as an expert shot while in naval special forces training, and qualified again as an expert during his term as Governor in Minnesota, he could not duplicate the time and accuracy of Oswald’s fateful shots. Yet Lee Harvey Oswald only qualified as a “marksman,” two grades lower than Ventura. (Witnesses who shot with Oswald have said for years that he had “Maggie’s drawers”—that he frequently missed the target and generally did not meet the high standards of a serviceman.)

The House Select Committee on Assassinations matched Ventura’s findings back in 1978. Their investigation found a 95% or higher probability that John F. Kennedy was killed by more than one assassin, concluding that indeed a conspiracy took place, and debunking the rushed conclusions of the 1964 Warren Commission that Oswald acted alone. However, nearly half a century later, the media has continued to promote the lone gunman theory, even in spite of a skeptical public. The motives behind this mass-misconception are deep and probing indeed, and Ventura has been questioning the official account for many years now.

Two of Ventura’s best-selling books, American Conspiracies andDon’t Start the Revolution Without Me, have both delved deeply into what really happened in the assassination. Ventura’s writing partner Dick Russell has also written extensively on the subject in his book On the Trail of the JFK Assassins. Tune in Fri, Nov. 19 to find out what Ventura and his Conspiracy Theory team have now uncovered.

From TruTV’s “Conspiracy Theory”:

“JFK Assassination” – NEW!
Premieres Fri, November 19 at 10P
Never-published declassified CIA documents appear to support a link between the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the Watergate scandal that brought down Richard Nixon. To find out for sure, Jesse Ventura goes to Dallas, where he meets Lee Harvey Oswald’s widow, Marina, and investigates the “Two Oswalds” theory that a CIA-groomed double killed JFK. TV-PG-L

Never Forget: Bad Wars Aren’t Possible Unless Good People Back Them

This is a very good article from Michael Moore, what he delineates are the reasons we are still in such a mess as a Nation and a people. These reasons are blatant and should never be allowed to happen again. Even though Obama seems to be tied to the Bush Doctrine of appeasing the military-industrial complex and the oil industry, it would be a grave mistake to let the fox once again guard the chicken coop. And don’t for one minute be foolhardy enough to believe that these Teabaggers are anything more than the right fringe element of the Republican Party and in that role their identity is nothing more than the elite’s stooges who will bend to their every whim and call. All anyone has to do to realize the truth of this statement is to do an analysis of who is supplying the money for these individuals campaign. The truth is in the pudding. EyeOnCitrus

I know we’ve been “free” of the Iraq War for two weeks now and our minds have turned to the new football season and Fashion Week in New York. And how exciting that the new fall TV season is just days away!

But before we get too far away from something we would all just like to forget, will you please allow me to just say something plain and blunt and necessary:

We invaded Iraq because most Americans — including good liberals like Al Franken, Nicholas Kristof & Bill Keller of the New York Times, David Remnick of the New Yorker, the editors of the Atlantic and the New Republic, Harvey Weinstein, Hillary Clinton, Chuck Schumer and John Kerry — wanted to.

Of course the actual blame for the war goes to Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld/Wolfowitz because they ordered the “precision” bombing, the invasion, the occupation, and the theft of our national treasury. I have no doubt that history will record that they committed the undisputed Crime of the (young) Century.

But how did they get away with it, considering they’d lost the presidential election by 543,895 votes? They also knew that the majority of the country probably wouldn’t back them in such a war (a Newsweek poll in October 2002 showed 61% thought it was “very important” for Bush to get formal approval from the United Nations for war — but that never happened). So how did they pull it off?

They did it by getting liberal voices to support their war. They did it by creating the look of bipartisanship. And they convinced other countries’ leaders like Tony Blair to get on board and make it look like it wasn’t just our intelligence agencies cooking the evidence.

But most importantly, they made this war (and its public support) happen because Bush & Co. had brilliantly conned the New York Times into running a bunch of phony front-page stories about how Saddam Hussein had all these “weapons of mass destruction.” The administration gleefully fed this false information not to Fox News or the Washington Times. They gave it to America’s leading liberal newspaper. They must have had a laugh riot each morning when they’d pick up the New York Times and read the nearly word-for-word scenarios and talking points that they had concocted in the Vice President’s office.

I blame the New York Times more for this war than Bush. I expected Bush and Cheney to try and get away with what they did. But the Times — and the rest of the press — were supposed to STOP them by doing their job: Be a relentless watchdog of government and business — and then inform the public so we can take action.

Instead, the New York Times gave the Bush administration the cover they needed. They could — and did — say, ‘Hey, look, even the Times says Saddam has WMD!’

With this groundwork laid, the Bush crowd ended up convincing a whopping 70% of the public to support the war — a public that had given him less than 48% of its vote in 2000.

Early liberal support for this war was the key ingredient in selling it to a majority of the public. I realize this is something that no one in the media — or most of us — really wants to discuss. Who among us wants to feel the pain of having to remember that liberals, by joining with Bush, made this war happen?

Please, before our collective memory fades, I just want us to be honest with ourselves and present an unsanitized version of how they pulled off this war. I can guarantee you the revisionists will make sure the real truth will not enter the history books.

Children born when the war began started second grade this month.

Kids who were eleven in 2003 are now old enough to join up and get killed in Iraq in a “non-combat capacity.”

They’ll never understand how we got here if we don’t.

So let me state this clearly: This war was aided and abetted by a) liberals who were afraid to stick their necks out and thus remained silent; and b) liberals who actually said they believed Colin Powell’s cartoon presentation at the U.N. and then went against their better judgment by publicly offering their support for the invasion of Iraq.

First, there were those 29 (turncoat) Democratic senators who voted for the war. Then there was the embarrassing display of reporters who couldn’t wait to be “embedded” and go for a joy ride on a Bradley tank.

But my real despair lies with the people I counted on for strong opposition to this madness — but who left the rest of us alone, out on a limb, as we tried to stop the war.

In March of 2003, to be a public figure speaking out against the war was considered instant career suicide. Take the Dixie Chicks as Exhibit A. Their lead singer, Natalie Maines, uttered just one sentence of criticism — and their career was effectively dead and buried at that moment. Bruce Springsteen spoke out in their defense, and a Colorado DJ was fired for refusing to not play their songs. That was about it. Crickets everywhere else.

Then MSNBC fired the only nightly critic of the war — the television legend, Phil Donahue. No one at the network — or any network — spoke up on his behalf. There would never again be a Phil Donahue show. (Little did GE know that, when they soon filled that 8pm hour with a sports guy by the name of Keith Olbermann, they would end up with the war’s most brilliant and fiercest critic, night after night after night.) There were a few others — Bill Maher, Janeane Garofalo, Tim Robbins and Seymour Hersh — who weren’t afraid to speak the truth. But where was everyone else? Where were all those supposed liberal voices in the media?

Instead, this is what we were treated to back in 2003 and 2004:

** Al Franken, who said he “reluctantly” was “a supporter of the war against Saddam.” And six months into the war Al was still saying, “There were reasons to go to war against Iraq … I was very ambivalent about it but I still don’t know if it was necessarily wrong (to go to war).”

** Nicholas Kristof, columnist for the New York Times, who attacked me and wrote a column comparing me to the nutty right-wingers who claimed Hillary had Vince Foster killed. He said people like me were “polarizing the political cesspool,” and he chastised anyone who dared call Bush’s reasons for going to war in Iraq “lies.”

** Howell Raines, editor-in-chief of the “liberal” New York Times, who was, according to former Times editor Doug Frantz, “eager to have articles that supported the war-mongering out of Washington … He discouraged pieces that were at odds with the administration’s position on Iraq’s supposed weapons of mass destruction and alleged links of al-Qaeda.” The book “Hard News” reported that “according to half a dozen sources within the Times, Raines wanted to prove once and for all that he wasn’t editing the paper in a way that betrayed his liberal beliefs…”

** Bill Keller, at the time a New York Times columnist, who wrote: “We reluctant hawks may disagree among ourselves about the most compelling logic for war — protecting America, relieving oppressed Iraqis or reforming the Middle East — but we generally agree that the logic for standing pat does not hold. … we are hard pressed to see an alternative that is not built on wishful thinking.”

(The New York Times is so left-wing that when Raines retired, they replaced him with… Keller.)

** The New Yorker, the magazine for really smart liberals, found its editor-in-chief, David Remnick, supporting the war on its pages: “History will not easily excuse us if, by deciding not to decide, we defer a reckoning with an aggressive totalitarian leader who intends not only to develop weapons of mass destruction but also to use them. … a return to a hollow pursuit of containment will be the most dangerous option of all.” (To cover its ass, the New Yorker had another editor, Rick Hertzberg, write an anti-war editorial as a rebuttal.)

Some of the above have recanted their early support of the war. The Times fired its WMD correspondent and apologized to its readers. Al Franken has been a great Senator. Kristof now writes nice columns (

Alan Simpson compared Social Security to welfare, saying: “We’ve reached a point now where [Social Security] is like a milk cow with 310 million tits.”

Well, progressives in Congress are fighting back. Can you help?

It’s been widely reported that Simpson’s “deficit reduction” commission will make Social Security their prime target — choosing to cut a program that’s in surplus and helps the middle class instead of taking on tax cuts for the rich or wasteful military spending.

Ten bold members of Congress just announced a letter to President Obama saying they’ll vote against any proposal from Simpson’s commission that cuts Social Security. They deserve our support.

Will you help us get 25,000 “citizen signers” of this letter opposing cuts to Social Security by signing it and inviting your friends? Click here.

These bold members of Congress, led by Progressive Caucus Chair Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), are asking their colleagues to join their letter. Proof that the public is paying attention to this issue will help them immensely.

We’ll also inform the media of our growing number of “citizen signers” so Simpson’s commission knows that these ten members of Congress are not alone. Sign the letter here.

Simpson’s commission is packed with out-of-touch millionaires and corporate types. Any recommendation they make will lack credibility. But we need to make especially clear to Simpson’s commission, President Obama, and all of Congress that any proposal to cut Social Security is a non-starter.

Well, we did it! We got an independent audit of the Federal Reserve ready for the President’s signature. That’s what the Senate’s vote to approve the financial reform bill means; the audit authority is in there. Now we will find out which zombie banks on Wall Street got a new lease on life with Fed money, as the Fed’s balance sheet grew by over one trillion dollars.

Funny enough, the world of big money isn’t collapsing — as the Fed threatened it would if an audit of the Fed ever came close to passing.

But if you happened to read Rupert Murdoch‘s Wall Street Journal on May 7, 2010, you would have heard a different story. “Plan for Congressional Audits of Fed Dies in Senate,” was the headline. Exactly what Wall Street wanted you to think.

Whoops! It looks like the Wall Street Journal has gone the way of Rupert Murdoch’s flagship holding, Fox News.

But we won. And so, to celebrate, we took that Wall Street Journal article from two months ago, did a little photoshopping, and put this together:

Share the news — and the photos — with your friends and loved ones.

We did this. Together. At every moment, as the Fed and Wall Street sought to undermine this cause, it was the phone calls, letters, e-mails, blogging and sheer power of the people — ordinary people who cared — that beat them back. We have delivered a succinct message to Wall Street and the Fed: “We Can Beat You.”

We will beat you. As often as we need to. And when the battle is over, as Lincoln said, there will be “a new birth of freedom, and government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”

Corporate States of NWODo you want to continue to have a say, albeit, not very much, in what goes on in this government? If you do, you must act, as outlined below, as soon as possible. We have got to give it a try, even if we go down, we must stop the corporate takeover. This is so very important, if we can’t get this, then this will become the Corporate States of America, act as soon as possible.

The DISCLOSE Act is up for a crucial procedural vote tomorrow afternoon.
But as of right now, we still don’t have the votes we need to curb unlimited corporate spending in elections. That’s because Republicans are pledging to block this commonsense legislation from even getting an up-or-down vote.

Please click here to urge your friends to add their names next to yours on our petition at — or forward the message below. Then call the Capitol switchboard at (202) 224-3121 to demand your Republican Senator(s) in Florida support the DISCLOSE Act (S. 3295).

If we don’t pass the DISCLOSE Act, the Supreme Court’s disastrous Citizens United decision will stand unchecked — allowing corporations (including foreign companies and government contractors) to secretly spend millions of dollars for or against candidates for public office.

So pick up the phone and let your Senators know that you’re one of the over 25,000 citizens who have signed the petition. And make sure they’re aware that 80% of Americans oppose the Citizens United decision, which unleashed unbridled corporate spending in elections.1

Thank you for taking action — and urging my colleagues to do right by the American people tomorrow afternoon.

Patrick Leahy
U.S. Senator

Government is the only thing standing between us and all those who would harm us, in one form or another! Be it war, medicine, unsafe products, the list is endless. Corporate America has taken over our Government and it is the reason we’re in such a mess. Don’t blindly get on a bandwagon of non-thinkers, followers and corporate lackeys. Take our Government back; support it, in its battle with the Corporate Monolith, fighting to protect us, the people, against their unrestrained greed. For those of you who may not know, NON SEQUITUR is Latin (yes a dead language, as we will be going down this path) meaning non-sequential, in other words, the teabaggers are taking 2+2+2=36, does not follow reason.

Doomsday: How BP Gulf disaster may have triggered a ‘world-killing’ event

Preface: Dave Gregory

“Let me warn you, the following is written by an individual who has done his research, his facts are sited. He delivers an excellent piece on what, may, or may not be, the future for our world. One thing is certain, the events that led up to our present precarious position in the history of the world was brought about by the past administration eight years of unsurpassed deregulation of the corporate entity and with that, allowing it to reach with its unquenchable thirst for the riches of the world, wherever they lie. This has been going on for decades and has reached the precipice of the apocalypse that we are now upon. If we should be lucky enough to survive the next six months, do not be foolish enough to follow the ones that have put us in this position. The devil is among us and has been always, but his presence has never been as prevalent as it is now. He has been the one that implored you to world conquest, giving false testimony, saying we must protect ourselves, by invading other countries, belittling the peoples of the world, vilifying the poor, and destroying the foundation of our Nation, the Constitution. He invites you into his church with open arms, and then instructs you on torture, torturing our fellow human beings. He parades the riches of the world to your eyes via the mass media, telling you, that anyway you achieve this is all right. He is just watering at the mouth to regain the control he lost in the last election, it may be too late, but it will certainly be, if he again takes center stage for his final act, the demise of the world.” Dave Gregory P.S. “Take the few minutes to read the rest of this article; you might not get another chance.”

Ominous reports are leaking past the BP Gulf salvage operation news blackout that the disaster unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico may be about to reach biblical proportions.

251 million years ago a mammoth undersea methane bubble caused massive explosions, poisoned the atmosphere and destroyed more than 96 percent of all life on Earth. [1] Experts agree that what is known as the Permian extinction event was the greatest mass extinction event in the history of the world. [2]

55 million years later another methane bubble ruptured causing more mass extinctions during the Late Paleocene Thermal Maximum (LPTM).

The LPTM lasted 100,000 years. [3]

Those subterranean seas of methane virtually reshaped the planet when they explosively blew from deep beneath the waters of what is today called the Gulf of Mexico.

Now, worried scientists are increasingly concerned the same series of catastrophic events that led to worldwide death back then may be happening again-and no known technology can stop it.

The bottom line: BP’s Deepwater Horizon drilling operation may have triggered an irreversible, cascading geological Apocalypse that will culminate with the first mass extinction of life on Earth in many millions of years.

The oil giant drilled down miles into a geologically unstable region and may have set the stage for the eventual premature release of a methane mega-bubble.

Ryskin’s methane extinction theory

Northwestern University‘s Gregory Ryskin, a bio-chemical engineer, has a theory: The oceans periodically produce massive eruptions of explosive methane gas. He has documented the scientific evidence that such an event was directly responsible for the mass extinctions that occurred 55 million years ago. [4]

Many geologists concur: “The consequences of a methane-driven oceanic eruption for marine and terrestrial life are likely to be catastrophic. Figuratively speaking, the erupting region “boils over,” ejecting a large amount of methane and other gases (e.g., CO2, H2S) into the atmosphere, and flooding large areas of land. Whereas pure methane is lighter than air, methane loaded with water droplets is much heavier, and thus spreads over the land, mixing with air in the process (and losing water as rain). The air-methane mixture is explosive at methane concentrations between 5% and 15%; as such mixtures form in different locations near the ground and are ignited by lightning, explosions and conflagrations destroy most of the terrestrial life, and also produce great amounts of smoke and of carbon dioxide…” [5]

The warning signs of an impending planetary catastrophe—of such great magnitude that the human mind has difficulty grasping it-would be the appearance of large fissures or rifts splitting open the ocean floor, a rise in the elevation of the seabed, and the massive venting of methane and other gases into the surrounding water.

Such occurrences can lead to the rupture of the methane bubble containment—it can then permit the methane to breach the subterranean depths and undergo an explosive decompression as it catapults into the Gulf waters.  [6]

All three warning signs are documented to be occurring in the Gulf.

Ground zero: The Gulf Coast

The people and property located on the greater expanse of the Gulf Coast are sitting at Ground Zero. They will be the first exposed to poisonous, cancer causing chemical gases. They will be the ones that initially experience the full fury of a methane bubble exploding from the ruptured seabed.

The media has been kept away from the emergency salvage measures being taken to forestall the biggest catastrophe in human history. The federal government has warned them away from the epicenter of operations with the threat of a $40,000 fine for each infraction and the possibility of felony arrests.

Why is the press being kept away? Word is that the disaster is escalating.

Cracks and bulges

Methane is now streaming through the porous, rocky seabed at an accelerated rate and gushing from the borehole of the first relief well. The EPA is on record that Rig #1 is releasing methane, benzene, hydrogen sulfide and other toxic gases. Workers there now wear advanced protection including state-of-the-art, military-issued gas masks.

Reports, filtering through from oceanologists and salvage workers in the region, state that the upper level strata of the ocean floor is succumbing to greater and greater pressure. That pressure is causing a huge expanse of the seabed-estimated by some as spreading over thousands of square miles surrounding the BP wellhead-to bulge. Some claim the seabed in the region has risen an astounding 30 feet.

The fractured BP wellhead, site of the former Deepwater Horizon, has become the epicenter of frenetic attempts to quell the monstrous flow of methane.

The subterranean methane is pressurized at 100,000 pounds psi. According to Matt Simmons, an oil industry expert, the methane pressure at the wellhead has now skyrocketed to a terrifying 40,000 pounds psi.

Another well-respected expert, Dr. John Kessler of Texas A&M University has calculated that the ruptured well is spewing 60 percent oil and 40 percent methane. The normal methane amount that escapes from a compromised well is about 5 percent.

More evidence? A huge gash on the ocean floor—like a ragged wound hundreds of feet long—has been reported by the NOAA research ship, Thomas Jefferson. Before the curtain of the government enforced news blackout again descended abruptly, scientists aboard the ship voiced their concerns that the widening rift may go down miles into the earth.

That gash too is hemorrhaging oil and methane. It’s 10 miles away from the BP epicenter. Other, new fissures, have been spotted as far as 30 miles distant.

Measurements of the multiple oil plumes now appearing miles from the wellhead indicate that as much as a total  of 124,000 barrels of oil are erupting into the Gulf waters daily-that’s about 5,208,000 gallons of oil per day.

Most disturbing of all: Methane levels in the water are now calculated as being almost one million times higher than normal. [7]

Mass death on the water

If the methane bubble—a bubble that could be as big as 20 miles wide—erupts with titanic force from the seabed into the Gulf, every ship, drilling rig and structure within the region of the bubble will immediately sink. All the workers, engineers, Coast Guard personnel and marine biologists participating in the salvage operation will die instantly.

Next, the ocean bottom will collapse, instantaneously displacing up to a trillion cubic feet of water or more and creating a towering supersonic tsunami annihilating everything along the coast and well inland. Like a thermonuclear blast, a high pressure atmospheric wave could precede the tidal wave flattening everything in its path before the water arrives.

When the roaring tsunami does arrive it will scrub away all that is left.

A chemical cocktail of poisons

Some environmentalist experts are calling what’s pouring into the land, sea and air from the seabed breach ‘a chemical cocktail of poisons.’

Areas of dead zones devoid of oxygen are driving species of fish into foreign waters, killing plankton and other tiny sea life that are the foundation for the entire food chain, and polluting the air with cancer-causing chemicals and poisonous rainfalls.

A report from one observer in South Carolina documents oily residue left behind after a recent thunderstorm. And before the news blackout fully descended the EPA released data that benzene levels in New Orleans had rocketed to 3,000 parts per billion.

Benzene is extremely toxic and even short term exposure can cause agonizing death from cancerous lesions years later.

The people of Louisiana have been exposed for more than two months—and the benzene levels may be much higher now. The EPA measurement was taken in early May. [8]

While some say it can’t happen because the bulk of the methane is frozen into crystalline form, others point out that the underground methane sea is gradually melting from the nearby surging oil that’s estimated to be as hot as 500 degrees Fahrenheit.

Most experts in the know, however, agree that if the world-changing event does occur it will happen suddenly and within the next 6 months.

So, if events go against  Mankind and the bubble bursts in the coming months, Gregory Ryskin may become one of the most famous people in the world. Of course, he won’t have long to enjoy his new found fame because very shortly after the methane eruption civilization will collapse.

Perhaps if humanity is very, very lucky, some may find a way to avoid the mass extinction that follows and carry on the human race.

You won’t believe this. BP blocked workers cleaning up the oil disaster in the Gulf from wearing protective respirators.

Keith Olbermann reports that workers are breathing in toxic fumes day after day — and some have already landed in the hospital with nausea, chest pains, and headaches. Yet BP seems more worried about controlling what images the public sees than about the health of workers.

Shame on them. Watch Keith Olbermann’s report on this issue — then join us, Robert F. Kennedy Jr, and others in demanding action from the White House.

Today, we’re launching a huge coalition of local and national activists — including Gulf fishermen, environmentalists, members of Congress like Alan Grayson, and Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Together, we’re saying that President Obama must stop BP from denying workers the protective gear they need. Obama says “the federal government has been in charge” of the clean-up efforts, now’s his chance to prove it.

Our new coalition is already driving big headlines. But to really get President Obama’s attention, we need those media reports to show that thousands of Americans heard about this cause and joined it.

Jim Geer in handcuffs!

Many of us remember when Jim Greer was walked away in handcuffs, but I didn’t think it would lead me to writing THIS. (written by Dem Party Chair, I believe, lost original email).

Florida needs your help.

Today, several hundred documents were released from the case against indicted RPOF Chairman Jim Greer. Since this scandal came to light, the Florida Democratic Party has warned that Republican politicians including Bill McCollum, Dean Cannon, John Thrasher, and others were not being truthful about their roles.

Throughout files and documents released as part of the criminal case against Jim Greer, there are documents showing that McCollum, Cannon, Thrasher and others not only knew about Greer’s alleged corruption but they also tried to help cover it up.

While we are digging through the documents ourselves, there is a lot to look through and we need your help. We have made the documents available online so you can look through them and help us make sure everything important is found.

Chair Karen Thurman has repeatedly demanded a full and independent investigation. But the Republicans who control Tallahassee are trying to block the investigations into their culture of corruption, instead trying to make Jim Greer the fall guy for their misdeeds.

This is our chance as citizens to make sure that we get to the bottom of this shameful scandal. That is why we have posted everything for you to look through and are asking you to let us know what you find.

So please take a minute and help us sort through the documents and help us hold these politicians like McCollum, Cannon, Thrasher, and others accountable for what they’ve done.

Thanks you for your support and your time in volunteering to help us to uncover the truth.

A Hot Air Balloon

The following joke is by a commenter over at Crooks and Liars. I thought it was good enough to pass on to you guys.

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, “Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don’t know where I am.”

The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, “You’re in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2,346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.

“She rolled her eyes and said, “You must be an Obama Democrat.”

“I am,” replied the man. “How did you know?”

“Well,” answered the balloonist, “everything you told me is technically correct. But I have no idea what to do with your information, and I’m still lost. Frankly, you’ve not been much help to me.”

The man smiled and responded, “You must be a Republican.”

“I am,” replied the balloonist. “How did you know?”

“Well,” said the man, “you don’t know where you are or where you are going. You’ve risen to where you are due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You’re in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but somehow, now it’s my fault.”
